When my children were growing up I used to joke with other parents that children seem to want to eat EVERY day. ??

In all seriousness, food is essential for survival.

This is one of the reasons why most of us love our parents initially.

They care enough about us to ensure our survival by providing food for us to eat - daily.

That survival instinct and gratitude for those who feed us carries into adult life.

You provide me food and it endears you to me.

That is what makes the idea featured here in this Edition so powerful.

Its effect is far deeper than might at first be apparent.

In the book, it is Idea # 8 titled Food Fair. Below is the text verbatim from the book.

Food Fair

Solicit restaurants in the area to provide a sampler plate night periodically (perhaps once a week or once per month).

This strategy provides a ready audience for the restaurant to introduce their cuisine to and an easy and enticing way to increase awareness for your business.

It also provides a reason to touch base with existing and prospective customers on a regular basis.

Hotels can use these as a special reception for their guests and as an easy way to invite the local business community in to see the property and personalize their business.

Other businesses can make it a regular open house.

Enhance engagement by giving away door prizes. (winners need not be present, but need to provide their name and an email address, so you’ll grow your list for future marketing efforts)
