The common disease of old age in Africa became a source of concern to me.
I am one who believes in growing strong and living a long life.
Whenever I encounter a grandma or grandpa at the age of 80 and above, it gives me extra joy.?
When diabetes became a scary disease constantly mentioned in families with parents of 45-70 years , it hurts deep.?
Besides the disease being hereditary, one can eat healthily to cut it off or manage it.?
When, I recall my maternal granny being a victim and her case serving as an eye opener. I took it upon myself to find help for other people living with it.?
I haven't stopped to search for foods that will help people prone to the disease and already suffering from diabetes.?
During my grandma's case, variety of meals seem so limited. There were just a few food types rotated constantly.?
That could be boring and discouraging. I'm sure that could be the reason many of them with sweet tooth will return to what the doctors adviced them to stop eating.?
Well, I found my local food.?
The food is an organic food.?
It is a food high in protein, vitamins, minerals and has low content of carbohydrates.?
In fact, it is a complete meal.?
Quite filling and nutritious.?
It is mostly grown and eaten by the people in the Eastern part of Nigeria.?
I found another food which my granny ate too.?
To be continued...!?
