Fondly Remembered - Mr. Bishwambhar Mishra

I was very deeply saddened to hear about the sudden demise of Mr. Bishwambhar Mishra. Mr. Mishraji donned multiple hats in his career span at M&M. He was Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director at Punjab Tractors Ltd. & Member Of Group Executive Board at Mahindra & Mahindra. Prior to his retirement Mr. Bishwambhar Mishra was Director, MIQ.

I had the privilege to work with Mishraji right from my FES days, so I can proudly say it’s been a 20 year association. A knowledgeable person with humility and a man of few words.

My association, remembrance and episodes with Mishraji dates back from the year 2000 when he was at FES. I was fortunate to work with him on the manufacturing quality drive for Deming, the R&D and Product Development initiatives at FES, the Mahindra Sales system implementation etc to name a few. After taking over of Swaraj and post-acquisition, Mishraji took over as MD and launched a program with a slogan ‘first health drivers then growth drivers’. The investment paid back in 18 to 24 months and while the credit goes to everyone involved at that time, the star was Mishraji.

I always called him Bishwambhar or Bish, but to all he was fondly known as Mishraji. I am at short of words to express my sorrow at the sudden passing away of Mishraji. May he attain moksha. All I can do is to remember the paths he travelled and the journey we undertook. My salutations and my hands folded in prayers??
