A Fond Farewell to SAP

After an incredible 28-year journey at SAP, it’s time for me to step into a new chapter. Looking back, I’m filled with gratitude for the successes, challenges, and extraordinary people who made this time so fulfilling.?

From leading groundbreaking digital transformation projects to supporting SAP's first marketing headquarters in New York City, my time at SAP has been nothing short of inspiring.?

The opportunity to establish a global marketing presence in one of the world’s most dynamic ?cities was a highlight, allowing me to reshape CRM strategies, build diverse international teams, and foster deep connections with colleagues across the globe. It was a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation and change.?

Among the many highlights of my career, two transformative themes stand out: building strategic alliances and driving digital transformation with SAP for Me. Leading the creation of SAP for Me, SAP’s flagship customer and partner portal, was a rewarding journey. From inception to implementation, the portal now serves over 100,000 daily visitors with 30 million page views, and 4 million visits in 2024 and has become a cornerstone of SAP’s digital ecosystem. At the same time, working with partners like the European Space Agency (ESA) gave me the opportunity to shape strategic initiatives that bridged industries and unlocked new possibilities.?

Another rewarding time was the work with and for basically every employee at SAP through global initiatives like idea / innovation management and entrepreneurial events together with inspiring?start-ups. Collaborating with teams across Germany and SAP's subsidiaries in India, Canada, China, Hungary, Bulgaria, Brazil, and USA we helped foster a culture of innovation and collaboration that drove meaningful transformation.?

I learned a lot while supporting the SAP Runs SAP program under several CIOs, where I helped demonstrate how SAP leveraged its own solutions—such as SAP HANA and mobile apps—as a real-world example for customers and partners. This initiative highlighted the practical value of our technology and played a key role in setting new standards for sales enablement, showcasing the effectiveness and impact of our solutions in action.?

Through it all, I’ve learned that the true strength of a team shines brightest during challenging times. This resilience, combined with the shared drive to overcome obstacles and always support customers, is what made my time at SAP so special.?

I can’t possibly name all the incredible colleagues and leaders I’ve worked with, but I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported me along the way. A few individuals, in particular, have had a profound impact, and I am deeply grateful for their guidance and encouragement.?

You’ve made this experience enriching and unforgettable. I will miss our shared work and successes but the friendships we’ve built along the way will stay. As I look back with gratitude, I also look ahead with excitement and optimism. I’m eager to explore new opportunities and continue driving innovation and strategic leadership.
