Following My Passion

Well I made it through my first week full time in the business. Having started Attain Coaching in late 2019 (perfect timing I know). I have slowly built it up alongside my Head of Marketing and Customer Experience role. I decided now was the time to follow my passion full time, so I took the leap.

Making the decision to jump evokes an interesting mix of emotions. There is the fear of failure, the insecurity of giving up a regular paycheque and the excitement of following your passion, doing what you love every day. I have coached others in this position, so I knew it was not going to be an easy decision but once it was finally made, I felt liberated. Once I told them, many of my friends and former colleagues have encouraged me telling me that I will make it work and be great at it. I will of course miss my former colleagues, although I will be seeing many of them as I am working with them with my new “coach” hat on. 

I have also coached entrepreneurs and senior managers who have found their roles a lonely place with nobody to discuss ideas and issues with. They tell me that coaching has helped them by providing a thinking partner to work with. I have a great network of fellow coaches, friends and former colleagues so I feel I will have a good network to support me as I continue my journey.

When I watch my clients flourish over the time we work together, increase their confidence, develop their leadership skills and achieve what they set out to do, I know I am making the right decision. 

I am also excited to be starting my Talent Development Programme next week with a new cohort. I am at the start of a very exciting journey; I have so many plans and ideas so watch this space…
