Three years ago in May, I walked up this trail near our home with my husband Bryan and shared a simple sentence:

"Coaching clients never feels like work."

As I said it out loud, I experienced a deep, full-body knowing that this is why I am here.

I canceled all consulting engagements and leaned 100% into building my executive coaching practice.

I am grateful for this work, my clients, and how they have transformed me as an individual over the past three years.

In this article I'll share the link between start-up job satisfaction and life satisfaction and discuss some of the core ways I support my clients. I'll also celebrate the practice I've built with some fun statistics.

Transparently, it is not in my personality to be self-promotional, so writing and publishing this article is a challenge for me. I hope that sharing my journey inspires you to find and follow your true path and see what is possible when you invest 100% of yourself into something you love.

According to a recent Gallup study:

If we are satisfied with work, it is 79% likely that we are HIGHLY satisfied with life.?

Based on experience with almost 90 founders and executives, I can confidently say this is true and critically important.

Start-up life is challenging, thrilling, empowering, and all-consuming. To survive AND thrive, one must be a phenomenal operator and a compassionate leader. When we lead in an authentic way, aligned with our values and while holding in mind the future vision for ourselves and the company, we start to taste success and joy.

Below are some of the core ways in which I support founders and executives to survive and thrive at their scaling startups:

The acronym GIFT (Growth, Impact, Flexibility, all in service of my Team) represents my personal four core values. It is the Growth & Impact values that continue to push me to learn and grow in service of my clients, expressed best in the image below:

1.) Coaching Mastery (the container I create for clients). Certified Professional Co-Active Coach.

2.) Application of Neuroscience (the science behind why coaching works). Certified Neurotransformational Coach

3) Startup Expertise (15+ years as an operator). Founded and scaled teams at Yelp, Twitter, Change.org & LinkedIn.

The impact of this trifecta is significant growth and transformation of my clients and their respective companies and teams.

We all love data, so here are some stats in celebration of 3 years of executive coaching:

Love seeing how neuroscience intersects your work. Great write-up, and fab reminder for all of us to flex our pens on our own behalf.
