Fogo de Chao Marketing Internship
As my internship at Fogo de Chao?comes to an end, I want to reflect on the lessons and insights I have gained throughout this experience. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to? Janet Gieselman , Liz Melton , Hailey Higgins ,?and? Luciana L for giving me this incredible opportunity to work in Fogo's corporate office.?Prior to?this internship, I only had a little experience in marketing, but now, I realize how much effort goes into it, especially in the restaurant industry.
While at Fogo de Chao, I learned about the brainstorming process for creating experiences such as wine dinners and bar events. I even collaborated with OpenTable to ensure all the links for our guest experiences?were?properly?set up, allowing guests to have a seamless booking experience for these events,?which?is very important in marketing. One aspect of marketing I should have anticipated was how much work goes into menus. I was responsible for checking a lot of menus to ensure that the pricing on items was correct for each of Fogo's 70+ locations nationwide.?
I also had the opportunity to work on a lengthy PowerPoint presentation on?digital listing?inconsistencies across international Fogo locations. For this project, I compared the social media and website listings of our international locations with our U.S. locations and offered suggestions for improvement. It was interesting to see the differences between the global and U.S. listings.?
At Fogo, I had several responsibilities, including mailing E-club slips, distributing gift cards and catering cards to stores, keeping our competitor pricing analysis up-to-date, and ensuring that?the store hours for all locations were accurately reflected?on our Google listings. While working on these tasks, I gained?some?really?valuable?insights about the marketing industry. It was a great learning experience for me, and I?actually?found it both exciting and enjoyable.
