Focusing in on Formulations to Better the Bigger Picture for PMPs

The R&D work the application technology team at Syngenta puts into every #pestcontrol product is detailed and time-consuming, but they don't see it as burden.

“When you’re doing something that you really like, it’s not a challenge,” says former senior production application specialist Anne Silva. “Working with pest control products pushes us to be creative.”

Throughout the course of their work, the team learns plenty about insect behavior from the technical services team at Syngenta.

“I was working with a formulation targeting #mosquitoes and took images showing the formulation particles falling into crevices,” she explains. “I learned that because mosquitoes are flying insects, they don’t go into crevices. They need to be able to land on the active ingredient and pick it up.”

Silva says the team learns something new about #insects and pest control every day, which has led to a feeling of kinship with the pest management professionals their work is ultimately helping. Each member of the team is dedicated to helping PMPs be as effective as possible — one droplet, capsule and granule at a time.
