Anatomy of Terrorist Cells: A Critical Examination and Identified Gaps in Current Research
The 195 country Interpol Counterterrorism Fusion Task Force is focusing on the strategic objective to permanently remove all Iranian proxy terrorist cells from Gaza and the West Bank.
The following paper was just published in the Journal Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, 4 March 2025:
Anatomy of Terrorist Cells: A Critical Examination and Identified Gaps in Current Research: Ahmet Yayla, Received 15 Nov 2024, Accepted 17 Feb 2025, Published online: 04 Mar 2025. PDF Access: Crisis Discussion.
My colleague Dr. Ahmet S. Yayla is the Director of the Center for Homeland Security and the Master of Arts in Homeland Security program (MAHS) at DeSales University, where he is also an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice, member of the faculty at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies Program in Master's in Applied Intelligence and is a research fellow at the Program on Extremism at George Washington University.
Dr Yayla served 20 years in the Turkish National Police, specializing in counterterrorism and operations, notably serving as the Chief of Counterterrorism for the Sanliurfa region from 2010 to 2013.

The cause of Israel's 911 on October 7, was because counterterrorism operations were not advanced to protect the Palestinian people. That can't happen again.
Jaser Abu Mousa, a Yale Peace Fellow at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs, shared with me the following summation:
UNCTAD Warned: Gaza Strip could become “uninhabitable” by 2020
In September 2007, Israel imposed a severe blockade on Gaza, cutting it off from the outside world. With no access to alternative perspectives, people saw only Hamas and began to believe that living under its rule was their inescapable fate. Hamas, in turn, exploited the blockade to its advantage, while the people of Gaza bore the cost in every possible way.
The most dangerous consequence was the creation of a closed mindset—one that prevented people from thinking rationally or exercising common sense. The ability to judge their reality independently was stripped away.
Hamas and Israeli leadership, despite being seen as adversaries, have in many ways served each other’s interests. Hamas was allowed to grow stronger, and this was even stated this openly on multiple occasions. In return, Hamas’s existence helped Israel advanced their own political agenda, to the point where figures like Smotrich defended his approach toward Hamas.
This leads to a tough question: How did the October 7 attack happen? The answer is simple—I believe it was only a matter of time. In fact, it may have been delayed. Hamas’s project in Gaza was reaching its breaking point after exhausting all of the Strip’s resources. Years ago, a UN report predicted that Gaza would become uninhabitable by 2020.
Hamas’s failure became evident in March 2018, when they launched the “March of Return” protests. These demonstrations lasted for 18 months, resulting in hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries, including 180 people who lost limbs.
But what was Hamas’s reward? Israel facilitated $30 million a month from Qatar to keep them afloat.
Yes, There is Room for Hope
Let me share a real story. One Friday, I met Nahed, a desperate man who told me he was heading to the fence, hoping to either be killed or injured so his family could receive financial compensation. Thankfully, he survived. Instead, he later received a work permit in Israel. I had never seen him happier—he told me his daughter would finally return to college after two years, his children were getting new clothes, and they could afford good food.
This story reflects a harsh truth: for many in Gaza, hope did not come from Hamas’s promises of resistance but from the simple chance to live and work with dignity.
And this is what hope means to me: lifting the siege.
When the people of Gaza are free to live normal lives, they will be free to think differently, to see the world with new eyes. When they have the chance to work, to build, to dream beyond mere survival, they will no longer be trapped in the cycle of despair and destruction.
Only then will they arrive at the most natural conclusion—Yes, there is room for hope.

3 天前Hamas abusing Gazans Netanyahu, while talking about Israel's decision to halt aid moving into Gaza, said that Hamas is currently taking control of all supplies and goods sent to the Gaza Strip.? "It is abusing the Gazan population who are trying to receive the aid, it is shooting at them and is turning humanitarian aid into a terrorist budget directed against us," he said.

3 天前The IDF has a responsibility to neutralize any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel (that includes Palestinians) and IDF troops," We need to prioritize humanitarian and security operations, protecting the Palestinian people, not allowing Hamas and associated terrorist groups from using the Palestinian people (like the hostages) as a bargaining chip. This we want a ceasefire "AT ANY COST" mentality, allowing terrorists to maintain the control of entire countries (like Afghanistan), ignores the basic tenants of Responsibility to Protect (R2P). -- Preventing Genocide and Mass Atrocities - Our Responsibility to Protect: HRI: H-II OPSEC. https://lnkd.in/ejSWH95
