Focused View
Official Microsoft documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/sales/focused-view
Focused view is a great feature originating from the Dynamics 365 Sales application. Now you can enable this feature for any entity, including custom entities!
With Focused view, you can quickly navigate through a list of records and efficiently work with activities.
You can set it up within the entity customization in the Controls area. Don't forget to save and publish your changes. Apart from enabling it, no further configuration is needed within customization. The main settings are directly within the Model-driven application.
Above your entity/table, there will be a "Show As" button available, where you can switch to Focused view.
After switching, the form of the first record in the given view will open, and in the left panel, you will have the other records from the view. It looks similar to the "Open Records Set" functionality.
As a note, "Open Record Set":
Back to Focused view...
Available buttons include:
Selecting multiple records is important because the buttons of the main grid are also available!
The last button is for settings, where you can define attributes that you want to have available in Focused view.
In the settings, you can define up to 4 rows of record information.
Each row can contain up to 3 attributes from the entity or related entities. Preview is also available!
Furthermore, in the view, any unclosed activities related to the record are displayed. Activities can be opened directly from Focused View.

7 个月Thanks for this post, Jakub Homola! I can't see the option to enable the focused view on the admin console in my environment. There are only three other features. What may need to be done for it to appear?

8 个月This is really cool. I was thinking what's the point of this when we have open records set but the filtering, changing views and search and multiple selection of records are great features. Thanks again for this great article.
