Focused Practice

Practice does not make perfect, it makes permanent! Focused practice with precise goals and plans which develop good habits result in improved shots; aka better misses.
Most people tell me they don't have time to practice but I beg to differ. If they had a focused plan then they would be more efficient in their practice and get more out of the time they have.
Tuesday I knew I had a 60 minute drive ahead of me and the putting green was on my way. I left 30 minutes early and dressed for my event, i dropped 3 balls and practiced my putting stroke for putting 3 foot putts for 8 minutes followed by long putts (for "feel") for 12 minutes leaving 10 minutes to run in and check the mirror before I left for my journey.
Wednesday I spent 15 minutes en route to an appointment hitting approach shots at a range focusing on my routine and target line. If I missed the shot was rated on a scale of 1-10 so I could evaluate my misses and if things were getting better or worse. Less than 30 golf balls later I was back in my car on my way to the appointment.
The benefit is I now have 35 minutes of practice while receiving a little fresh air, exercise and a break from work to let all the ideas I had been working on settle out. When I returned to my desk, I was far more efficient than I would have been grinding it out without a break.
