Focus SB festive news round-up

As 2023 draws to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable milestones we've achieved - a testament to our team's dedication and the high standards we set ourselves.

January - partnership announcement with established high end brand Theben building automation, founded in 1921.

February - On the 10th February Sunny Chen CMO of our main China distributor partner Kursel Ltd was delighted to be invited to attend the prestigious 2022 Shenzhen Decoration Industry Excellent Supplier awards ceremony to accept a prestigious award on behalf of Focus SB.

March - Renaissance product online soft launch, available for purchase September. A high quality low profile solid brass flat screwless plate featuring distinctive square corner detail, Renaissance is an evolution of a classic design and unrivalled on the luxury electrical hardware market.

April - Focus SB is honoured to achieve the first ever King’s Awards for Enterprise for International Trade!

More award and product launch news - Control switches by Focus SB is [d]arc award winner in the Kit, Technology category. At the forefront of USB integration into power outlets since 2016 we introduce twin 13amp sockets with integrated USB PD available in our Ambassador, True Edge, Morpheus and Renaissance faceplate styles in standard finishes featuring a maximum of 45 Watts or 2.25A at 20V.

May - senior management team expansion. New member additions Mrs Jo Cloute our HR & Customer Aftercare Manager, Enterprise Adviser volunteer and Mental Health First Aider, and Mr Rob Little, Operations Manager. We also congratulated Mrs Terri Hoey on her promotion to her new role as Sales Office Manager.

June - Our MD Mr Gary Stevens is honoured to receive an invitation from The Master of the King’s Household commanded by His Majesty King Charles III to invite him to a reception to be given at Buckingham Palace by The King for recipients of The King’s Awards for Enterprise.

More news - Gary Stevens is delighted to once again be appointed Export Champion for Southern England as part of the Department for Business & Trade (DBT) Export Champions programme for 2023/24. Exclusive partnership with Tyba to beautifully finish its high-performance Turn 2? control interface.

August - New product Renaissance is Lighting and Product of the Year - Residential categories finalist in the SBID International Design Awards and Focus SB is shortlisted for the regional Make UK Awards 2023 in the SME of the year business category!

September - Mr Trevor Saunders, our Finishing Supervisor?celebrates 25 years service! New product Renaissance is available to purchase.

October - Decorex. We physically showcase for the first time our innovative new product RENAISSANCE in five exclusive finishes Ochre, Roma, Sienna, Umber and Canvas, a design-first product 18 months in the making and set to define the trends of tomorrow. Also launched was our design collaboration with Gwyn Carless & The Light Yard, the striking Focus SB Ambassador Wall Light along with finished products in exclusive industry partnerships with Lutron, Zennio, Faradite, Face4, Theben and?Tyba on display.?

November - On a momentous day for us on 22nd November, and just reward for the best year in our 44 year history, HRH The Princess Royal tours the Focus SB factory meeting employees and special guests introduced by senior management before presenting The King's Awards for Enterprise engraved crystal winner trophy to our MD Mr Gary Stevens, introduced by HM Lord-Lieutenant Mr Andrew Blackman East Sussex Lieutenancy. Gifts were then presented to Princess Anne by our Sales Office Manager Mrs Terri Hoey prior to a plaque to commemorate her visit, made by us in-house, is unveiled in our reception area - what a momentous day for Focus SB!

More awards and investment news: Focus SB supply chain warehouse operative Anni Sanders wins 'Apprentice of the Year' at the?Insider Media?Made in the South East Awards! Renaissance is shortlisted in the Innovation of the Year category in the Made in Britain Impact Awards.?We’ve invested ￡90K in a new CNC machine from XYZ to be installed and commissioned week commencing 13th November to enable us to cope with increased demand for our products, notably impacted by the launch of our Alisse accessories range in collaboration with Lutron as well as our new Renaissance flat screwless plate.

December - We have signed off on a new replacement paint spray booth to be installed in the week before Christmas at a further investment of ￡20K. The installation of a new paint spray booth by Airflow Group is being installed this week and commissioned in time for resumption of production in the New Year with very little disruption to production.

Lovely surprise from our colleagues and friends at Little Gate Supported Employment who popped in and gave us a lovely Christmas tree decoration handmade by the woodland team! Mrs Val Chandler our Assembly Manager who has over 35 years of experience in electrical manufacturing has done extensive work with Little Gate Farm as well as planning work experience for schools and colleges and employing apprentices.

As we celebrate these achievements, we are reminded that such success is only possible through the unwavering support of our clients and partners and the hard work of every member of the Focus SB family. Here's to a year that has been nothing short of meteoric and to the promise of even greater things to come.
