Focus on the goal and not the Limitations-
FOCUS: Follow One Course Until Successful(Napoleon Hill)
When we want to climb a mountain, we focus on the top. When we want to score a goal on the soccer field, we focus on the destination and not the hurdles that will come along the way. We look at the difficulties only to analyze how to overcome them and not look at them to stop us from going forward. We know that there will be falls in between. We know that there will be weather changes. We know that it will be rough at times, but we know our destination. We keep moving in that direction. The same philosophy applies in life; when we want to achieve something, we must focus on all the resources to make it happen despite our limitations. We must find ways to turn our vision into a hunger; like Napoleon hill said, a burning desire. We focus too much on how things are not going to work out or how they did not work out for other people or if there is a perfect way, and sometimes we are afraid that what if it does happen? Am I ready to take responsibility?
We humans can live in extreme weather conditions and do all sorts of things as we evolve. The only way to find our capacity is by taking new challenges and taking hurdles along the way as a way to grow. The more set of challenges we go through, the more resilient we become as we identify different patterns and situations.
Understandably, our mind tells us what if it does not work out, the humiliation and all sorts of fear are there. But we must understand that the fear is there to help us find skills to overcome those hurdles. It is understandable as we do not want to deal with the pain associated with anxiety. But we must understand this as well that this is our mind trying to tell us to stay vigilant, but the rest is that we are stopping ourselves. We must look past obstacles of overthinking and fear of failures and our limitations; instead, we must focus on the goal and try to find ways to make it happen. Lets us start working on a new challenge today.
