We hope you had a wonderful weekend, and are starting this week feeling rested and energized!
One of the topics we were discussing with our clients this week was, how do we let prospective clients know the price? This is such a challenging question that many of us grapple with, as we don't want to push people away.
The answer is, we want to create a transparent buying environment. We're doing away with manipulative sales processes and we're bringing in authenticity and openness into the sales conversation, which ultimately creates more conversions.
When you do this, it builds deep trust with prospective clients, and as a result, you’ll find your discovery calls being more qualified and your sales process getting much shorter!
CREATE A TRANSPARENT BUYING ENVIRONMENT
To create a transparent buying environment effectively, we want to be clear on 3 things:
? The #1 Result You Deliver
The first thing you want to do is to get super laser targeted on the main result you deliver.
Look at all the clients you’ve worked with, what was the main transformation you helped them achieve? What was the outcome they were excited about the most?
Get super clear on this, so that you can position yourself as the go-to person online for that specific transformation. That way, when prospective clients inquire about working with you, you both will know exactly the result you can deliver; you'll feel confident about it, and they'll feel at ease, knowing the value they'll receive as a result of your coaching.
? Your Capacity
We're not fans of fake scarcity. Manipulating potential clients to believe that you’re only offering something for a "limited time" as a sales tactic that doesn't work anymore.
Instead, take a look at your capacity. How many new clients can you take on this month? To ensure their high success rate, as well as to keep a spacious schedule that doesn’t make you feel overextended, how many clients can you actually take on each month?
For us, it’s 5 clients per month. We find that this allows us to dedicate our time and attention to each new client coming in, so that we can help them build a strong brand foundation and scale up quickly. When we take on more than 5, it gets too overwhelming, and we're not able to dedicate the necessary time to each new client.
So know your capacity, and communicate it. Then when potential clients get on the phone with you, they know that they want to get one of those select spots.
? The Price
How many of you have been on a discovery call with a potential client that seemed like a great fit, but when you got to the end of the call and started talking about the price, it turned out that the person didn’t have the funds to make the investment?
This is really challenging, because you might have really enjoyed the conversation with that person, you held space for them, generously invested your time and energy into the call, you could totally see them benefiting from being a part of your community and getting amazing results; but they were not able to or not ready to take their life, business or career to the next level.
To avoid such situations, we want to be taking discovery calls with people who not only desire to achieve the main result that we deliver, but are also ready to invest. That’s why it's essential to talk about your pricing upfront.
When you let people know the main result you deliver, give them the number of clients you can take on per month, and tell them about the size of the investment to work with you in your marketing – you give them an opportunity to evaluate if your offer is worth the investment before they get on the phone with you.
And when people, having all this information, make a decision to hop on a discovery call with you, you know they’re highly qualified, and then the call becomes more about finding out if there’s alignment and if you’re a good fit to work together.
