We are excited to share news of a collaboration to create a robust management and leadership framework for the NHS.
NHS England has appointed the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) to lead a project with the Faculty of Medical Leadership & Management (FMLM), and FNF to create a new NHS Management and Leadership Framework.
The new multi-disciplinary framework will provide clear expectations of managers and leaders working across the service.
A Code of Practice for all NHS and social care leaders and managers will also be developed through this work. You can read the full press release here.
Practice learning
A review of practice learning requirements for nursing and midwifery students has revealed highly varied learning experiences and supervision, and calls for action to ensure high quality education.?
This?new independent report we produced, with health think tank The Nuffield Trust, was commissioned by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). The NMC wanted to better understand what contributes to effective practice learning across the UK and in other countries. Find out more here.
Leadership Programmes
CLOSING ON WEDNESDAY Aspiring Directors in Northern Ireland: The Florence Nightingale Foundation and the Department of Health Northern Ireland are pleased to offer a leadership programme open to all nurses and midwives working in Northern Ireland at Band 8B and above, or other bands if you work and report directly to a Director in Northern Ireland.

Emerging Clinical Leaders: This programme aims to support nurses and midwives working in patient facing roles at Agenda for Change Band 5 to 6 or equivalent. It will enable participants to develop their individual and collective leadership identity, as well as creating a close network and sense of belonging.

Aspiring Digital Career Nurses and Midwives: FNF is offering another residential leadership programme for aspiring digital career nurses and midwives, this time in Liverpool. Aimed at professionals at any stage of their career taking their first steps on a digital career path who have aspirations to influence digital transformation.
