Renesas: Stable Demand, Automotive Sector Shows Growth Potential

Renesas sees stable overall demand, with automotive applications remaining strong and showing growth potential. However, industrial and consumer product demand is weaker. Shortages are mainly concentrated in ISLxx, HD64xx, M30xx, UPD78xx, and RSFxx models. RF components such as F17xx and F19xx are also in tight supply. Automotive component lead times remain long, while standard components have seen shorter delivery cycles.

Xilinx: Focus on Spartan Series

Xilinx’s AI-related XUZ series has significant market potential but is subject to international trade regulations, limiting availability. As a result, the Spartan series, particularly models starting with XC7V and XC6, is recommended for industrial automation, consumer electronics, and automotive applications.

Marvell: Data Center Revenue Soars

Driven by rising AI chip demand and Nvidia’s price surge, tech giants like Microsoft and Amazon are developing their own AI processors, benefiting Marvell. The company’s data center division reported a 78% YoY revenue increase in Q4. However, stock prices fell due to concerns over market expectations, geopolitical pressures, and AI commercialization challenges.

Broadcom continues to face weak traditional communication demand, but AI-driven growth opportunities persist. Despite rising inquiries, actual transaction rates remain low due to buyer caution and supply constraints.

Microchip: Increased Investment in RISC-V

Microchip is expanding its investment in RISC-V processors and scalable interconnect solutions, targeting automotive applications such as autonomous driving, sensor control, and smart cockpit systems. The company’s RISC-V ecosystem is showing long-term growth potential.

Intel: New Supply Chain Assurance Program

Intel plans to launch a supply chain assurance program in the second half of this year, addressing transparency demands from government and highly regulated industries. The initiative will cover selected factories in the US, Ireland, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Malaysia but exclude facilities in Israel, China, and Costa Rica. Panther Lake remains on schedule for release later this year.

Samsung: Reducing Dependence on Japan

Samsung is accelerating efforts to localize key semiconductor materials, replacing Japanese-supplied ArF blank masks, which are critical in lithography and heavily reliant on Japan’s Hoya. The company is also working with Korean firm FST to develop local alternatives for EUV films, currently dominated by Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals.
