FLYADEAL TEAMS UP WITH TAMARA TO OFFER SPLIT PAYMENT OPTIONS FOR CUSTOMERS

Saudi Arabia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline Introduces ‘Buy Now Pay Later’ Flexible Plan Spreading Cost Of Tickets

3 July 2024

Jeddah, KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA — flyadeal, one of the youngest and fastest growing low-cost airlines in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, has teamed up with Tamara, the region’s leading fintech platform, to introduce a Buy Now Pay Later split payment plan giving customers flexibility to spread the cost of tickets.

The scheme is designed to help customers budget their flight expenses given travel can be one of the biggest costs for individuals and families going on holiday.?

Upon making a booking on the flyadeal Mobile App or website, customers are directed to the payment page where they can opt to pay in full or equally split their payments using Tamara with no late fees. Payments start on date of purchase and continue over the following three months via the Tamara platform. Buy Now Pay Later has transformed the way consumers shop and pay, ensuring a cheaper and more flexible alternative to traditional payment means such as debit and credit cards.

Launched in 2020, Tamara is Saudi Arabia's first fintech unicorn which has reshaped the payment and banking landscape for millions of customers in the Kingdom and across the GCC region.

To mark the programme’s introduction, Steven Greenway, flyadeal Chief Executive Officer, and Turki bin Zaraah, Tamara Co-Founder and Managing Director, signed a partnership agreement at the airline’s headquarters in Jeddah.

Steven Greenway, flyadeal CEO, said: “The launch comes just ahead of the busy summer season for domestic and international travel as independent travellers and families enter planning mode with managing budgets becoming a priority.?

“By partnering with a flexible payment provider like Tamara, the Buy New Pay Later plan simply gives our customers the option to evenly split their payments at no extra cost. This is just another example of our ongoing commitment to provide customers with greater choices, convenience and flexibility – the freedom to purchase ticket fare types that suit their needs and now, more choice of payment methods.”

Turki bin Zaraah, Tamara Co-founder and Managing Director, said: “We are excited to partner with flyadeal to introduce Sharia-compliant payment options. With flexible payments and no late fees, we're making it easier than ever for millions of passengers to manage travel expenses and split them over four payments. This collaboration highlights our shared commitment to providing seamless and accessible travel solutions.”

flyadeal currently serves 30 domestic and international destinations in Saudi Arabia, Europe, Middle East and North Africa, a number that will rise sharply to over 100 by 2030. The airline operates a single all-Economy Class cabin of 186 seats in a 3 – 3 configuration across its fleet of 33 modern Airbus A320 narrowbody aircraft.

Good for the company, bad for the customer. Buy now pay later basically you are putting communities in debt and once they don’t have the budget to pay the debt they will be suffering from SIMAH.

Do not book with this company. They change your flight schedules without your consent. I have 3 planes to take on July 23 and the first one has been modified and unfortunately I will not be able to board the other 2 that follow because they will have already left. ESPECIALLY DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. TO FLEE !

Great Step Steven Greenway ????? ?????? . Split payment systems used in the airline industry can be significantly advanced through the integration of generative AI technologies. Generative AI, powered by sophisticated machine learning algorithms such as neural networks and predictive analytics, enables airlines to analyze extensive datasets encompassing customer financial histories, travel behaviors, economic indicators, and real-time market conditions. By leveraging these capabilities, AI can predict and optimize personalized installment plans tailored to individual customer preferences and financial capabilities. This approach allows airlines to dynamically adjust payment schedules based on factors like seasonal travel demand, economic fluctuations, and customer-specific spending patterns, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and reducing financial risks associated with defaults. The integration of generative AI not only streamlines payment processes but also elevates customer satisfaction by offering flexible and responsive payment options that adapt to changing circumstances.
