Fly Formal - The new age formal!

As a footwear designer, the basic and the most considerable factor is Comfort for me and when the right craftsmanship combines, the best of any footwear comes out with a right footwear kit.

In 2018 with LOUIS PHILIPPE, we worked on a “Best traveller shoe” any Indian brand could deliver before. The Idea proposed by me was to combine the look of a formal shoe with the comfort of a sneaker shoe. The Construction that we followed was strobel to provide the maximum comfort. Moulded in-sock for extra cushioning on the heel by adding cavity in the outsole around heel area to evenly spread the heel pressure. Outsole made of special material compositions to provide that perfect bounce back and balance to the feet.

It was a successful launch and was one of the iconic shoes we delivered, But tasting success is never the end of a story, I believe it's the beginning to keep you going by making it a base. And the challenge is what’s next??

By looking at what we created and going through it again and again, I analysed the base of the foundation and concept where it all started.What we created was an inspiration from the upper of a formal shoe and outsole from the sneaker shoe as mentioned.

And the solution was mirroring the equation.

If we talk about sneaker/sports shoe, it is incomplete without Fly-knit material because of its uniqueness in terms to breathability, stretch and adapting to the perfect foot shape.

The shoe kit I selected was one of the trusted and bestsellers with right Instep girth, waist girth, ball girth, toe spring, short heel girth, long heel girth and right heel lift. Our moulded light weight TPU outsole is an added beauty. I made it with half leather lining with strobel construction.
