FLY THE FLAG JUNE 14!

"I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." These are words that too many do not recite anymore once they are out of school. Consider saying them on June 14 each year, which is Flag Day, initiated by a proclamation by President Wilson. The day commemorates the adoption of the stars and stripes as our official flag in this country. The history goes back to June 14, 1777, when John Adams spoke in Philadelphia during the Continental Congress resolving that the flag have 13 stripes and 13 stars, at that time. There have been many changes to the flag since 1777, but there have been no changes since the 50th state, Hawaii, entered the union in 1960. Fly it!
