How Adaptogenic Herbs Relieve Stress and Enhance Performance

How’s your stress these days?

When I’m going through a tough time, I will frequently reach for some of my favorite friends – adaptogenic herbs to help get me through.

Here are some of my favorites:

Beyond Self-Talk: Discovering Peace and Confidence in Flow

If you’re anything like me, you’ve experienced some flow in your life.

And if you’re like me, you also probably want to experience more.

Because flow feels so good.

Flow is inherently enjoyable.

One of the reasons for this is that during flow, our brain shuts off negative self-talk that we often say to ourselves:

- “I’m bad at this.”

- “How do I look?”

- “Do people like me?”

This voice in our head is turned down during flow states. When the brain shuts off the negative self-talk, it gives us a few moments of relief from our defeatist inner critic.

?? Neurologically this shutdown of the critic during flow is called ‘transient hypofrontality’. In this way, flow states silence that nagging voice in our head that so often tells us we can’t.

?? During flow, the default mode network DMN of the brain is turned down. This feature of flow is similar to how our brain function changes during meditation and psychedelic states.

?? When our inner critic is silenced, we enter a world of greater peace and confidence.

The Flow State Experience

Without self-talk to create negative emotions, our mental state frees itself from tension, and we discover a more confident and better version of ourselves.

The subject-object shift found in flow, meditation, and psychedelics can be the single most important feature we can make to accelerate personal growth.

By stepping outside ourselves, we gain perspective, empowerment, and meaning.

Whenever we get out of our heads, we get more perspective.

Over time, this makes a real difference.

Joints vs Bongs - The Aromatic Conduit and How Smoke Chemistry Affects Your High

What is the most chemically diverse way to inhale cannabis?

How might the humble joint serve as an aromatic conduit for terpene-based aromatherapy?

Learn how beta-caryophyllene (BCP) levels increase in roaches vs. joints.

Join me and Real Isolates LLC’s Andrew Westerkamp as we explore the fascinating dynamics of plant synergy and how CBD can fine-tune the impact of THC for optimized therapeutic and recreational experiences.

We dive deeply into the science of cannabis inhalation, comparing the effects and recreational impacts of joint vs. bong inhalation.

How does inhaled CBD modulate the effects of THC?

This video you will learn about the nuanced differences between therapeutic, clinical, and pharmacologic synergy and learn about terpenes' potential risks and transformations during inhalation.

The chemistry of combustion is simply different from vaporization. There’s no getting around this.

I’m not advocating combustion inhalation.

But we do have a lot to learn from it. And that’s simply the nature of the post here.

Microplastics and Declining Sperm Counts in Men vs Dogs

Many sperm studies implicate chemical pollutants like pesticides.

And laboratory studies have shown microplastics can damage human cells. In a recent study, human testes had 3 times the plastic concentration of dogs, including PVC which alters hormones and decreases sperm production.

What other ways could plastics inside of our bodies be affecting our health?

CBD reduced itching in dogs in this study by the Japanese Society of Veterinary Dermatology.

I had never thought of it before, but when you mentioned that flow turns off the negative self-talk, that was a big aha for me. It makes total sense when I reflect on my flow expereinces, but I had never thought of it before. And great insights all around!
