Floreo announces expansion of a groundbreaking partnership with Easterseals Southern California

Easterseals Southern California, the largest provider of disability services in California and Floreo recently announced the expansion of a groundbreaking partnership. Designed to help autistic individuals confidently navigate transportation options, the partnership was recently awarded T-Mobile's prestigious "Unconventional Award" for its innovative use of 5G technology.

Expanding on an existing library of transportation safety content, the Floreo-Easterseals partnership will develop new customized content targeting and addressing specific transportation issues, and other topic areas like communications and social skills.

Using Floreo in your clinic, school, or home

Floreo's Director of?Applied?Digital?Therapy,?Rita Solórzano MA,?CCC-SLP, is a Speech Language Pathologist with over 30 years of experience.

As you think about introducing Learners to Floreo, here are some ideas to keep in mind:

• Introduce the headset slowly. Some apprehensive Learners may be a bit reluctant to try the headset until they realize that learning can be fun with Floreo. If possible, let the Learner look through the lenses before asking the Learner to put the headset on. You may also want to show the Learner the view from the iPad before introducing the headset.
• Choose an initial Floreo experience that would be appealing to the Learner such as Play the Marimba or Hang Out in the Aquarium. If your Learner might be better engaged with an experience a bit more active, you might try one of the 360 nature videos (such as, Iguana, Lion, or Snowy Landscapes)

Attention Medicaid Families

FLOREO CAN BE COVERED BY STATE PROGRAMS

Did you know that Floreo has programs in place with several state waivers? These programs, like the Children's Long Term Support waiver in Wisconsin, or the MAPS program in Tennesee will pay for a Floreo subscription and equipment rental for participating families. Families in other states have used self-directed funds or funds for assistive technology to purchase a Floreo subscription.?

The best place to start is with your family's service coordinator. Chat with them to see if they can help get a Floreo subscription in place. And if they have any questions, we're always happy to help!
