Floods and monsoon rainfall: Complexity of the relationship

Looking at the above graphic one can easily decipher the number of rainfall related floods on a rise in Pakistan. Keeping this in mind we have sought to understand the reasons behind this increase and its subsequent impacts.
Have a look at this rainfall accumulation map from northern Pakistan.
This clearly depicts that the source of all the trouble is in the northern region however, the effects are significantly variable. We start by the source region and then carry down to the entire basin in the process.
