Flooding risk to London needs reappraisal
The biggest legacy of GLC was the #ThamesBarrier saving Central London from flooding. The risk of flooding clearly needs reappraisal from coverage in the MetroUK newspaper this week, at the very beginning of the new year. Previously as chair of the Environment Committee at The London Assembly we covered the risk of flooding to London and work into this needs to be undertaken again.
So l look forward to seeing The London Assembly and the Environment Agency getting us updated on the latest flooding risks to our capital city even though the Mayor does not have much powers over this critical matter for Londoners, in light of increasing global warming.
