Flood and Cyclones in Aotearoa/New Zealand: Adaption Resources & GIS

As I write this I know many geospatial colleagues will be busy with responding to recent flooding and cyclone disasters: kia kaha to all of you, we see you and thank you. If you are in a position to help in other ways or can donate to the organisations that are responding then please do that.

Further to that it is obvious that these events will lead to many changes in priority for many organisations and this focus will require a lot of geospatial analysis. In November I attended a climate focused conference, which while it was focused on North America, nevertheless had some very useful information that might help with some of what will be coming our way once this immediate crisis is further into recovery mode.

Here are some links that you might find useful to take a look at if you think that this is likely to impact your organisation (or if you are interested). If you have any other links on this topic that you think would be useful (especially if they are NZ focused) then perhaps you could add them as a comment so that we can build up a repository here.

If you would like further advice on the immediate emergency situation and how Eagle Technology Group and Esri may be able to help please see: https://www.eagle.co.nz/emergency-management-support
