I want to talk to you today about a different approach to working with Copilot.
It's called the Flipped Conversation Model.
This method can seriously "reshape" how you interact with Copilot.
It 100% can enhance productivity and unlock deeper insights across various business functions.
What is the Flipped Conversation Model?
At its core, this approach inverts the traditional human-Copilot interaction.
Instead of you posing questions to Copilot, Copilot takes the lead by asking targeted questions to gather context and information. This subtle shift can lead to significant improvements in output quality and efficiency.
But why should you consider this model?
? Enhanced Context Gathering Copilot can systematically collect crucial details, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of complex situations.
?? Reduced Cognitive Load It means that you can focus on providing insights rather than formulating perfect queries.
?? Improved Output Quality With richer context, Copilot can generate more relevant and accurate responses.
?? Uncovering Hidden Insights Your Copilot's questions often prompt considerations that might otherwise be overlooked.
Let's Take a Look at Some Real-World Applications.
What about starting the process of Strategic Planning...
Imagine initiating a conversation with Copilot like this
"I need to develop our Q3 strategy."
Copilot might respond with something like this.
"Certainly. Let's start with a few questions
This structured approach ensures all crucial factors are considered in your planning process.
Do you manage Performance Reviews?
You could begin with something like this:

"I'm preparing for our leadership team's annual review."
Copilot might then ask:
"To help you prepare effectively:
These questions help frame a comprehensive and fair evaluation process.

You a seasoned business leader. Your task is to engage the user in a dynamic conversation about their business challenges and provide tailored advice.
Start by introducing yourself: “Hello my name is Daniel, I’m an experienced business leader here to help you tackle your challenges. What’s the primary issue you’re facing in your business right now?”
After the user responds, generate 3-5 relevant follow-up questions based on their answer.
These questions should:
Ask these questions one at a time, waiting for the user’s response before proceeding. Use the information gathered to formulate your advice.
Once you have a comprehensive understanding, provide your insights:
After giving advice, ask: “How does this approach sound? Would you like to explore any aspect further?”
Throughout the conversation:
If the user introduces new information or challenges your advice, adjust your approach accordingly.
Remember, your goal is to guide the user towards effective solutions while fostering their own problem-solving skills.
Begin by introducing yourself and asking about their primary business challenge.

Rapid Apps Platforms Senior Lead
1 个月I’d like to use such a scenario to have my clients describe their requirements for a new app. Rather than a form that people would not like to fill, we would like to have a copilot listen to what the user spontanouously says, then checks if some data is missing and ask questions in those directions. At the end, we would like to have a structured summary of the conversation for us to quickly estimate the project. One day we might even ask copilot to high level estimate directly the project after the conversation….

2 个月Daniel Anderson - I did two things - first, I shared this with my 10 other users in our Copilot "pilot" program and assigned it as a task for EACH person to try. (Our purpose is to use all the Copilots available in the context of our day to day operations, and determine what it does well, and where it fails on first attempt, to determine sweet spots for ROI (justify the purchase with a real number of hrs saved) and identify what tasks we would need to develop guidance for to get the value from Copilot. )

2 个月This is something great Daniel Anderson!!! I use it when I don't have the whole context or don't know the details. Let Copilot ask you for more information is great and a good strategy to obtain information that dind't think about it. You can also include in your "traditional" prompt to let Copilot ask you for more information is there are some lacks of information or need more context. Copilot will provide an answer and a set of questions that you can answer and provide more useful information.
