Flip Flopper, Flexibility or Fantasy?
Flip Flopper? Or, does this mean Trump can be house broken? The Donald is making a dramatic reversal on his promise to order the US Military to violate international law using torture to get answers from terrorist suspects and even attacking their families. Thursday night's debate bluster by Trump set the internet on fire with members of the military saying Trump's orders would be illegal; violating international law, the military chain of command and the U.S. Constitution. Illegal orders they could lawfully refuse to obey.
Trump must be reading and believing his social media feeds, because he is reversing his statement, saying this afternoon "the United States is bound by laws and treaties and I will not order our military or other officials to violate those laws and will seek their advice on such matters." Is that the "flexibility" Trump promised at last night's debate, or is it an indicator he is not really prepared to be POTUS and could be dangerous in the White House?
You are correct, Penelope. Therefore; I heard him, I listened, I thought it out, and now - I despise his form of 'free speech'. 'Nuff said....

9 年America is so stuck in political correctness, people are not allowed to toss ideas out...change their minds...or do anything but make unshakable pronouncements that fit the current mold of POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. This stifling of our political discourse is going to do us in. Let go of the judgements, stop demonizing people who speak their mind...hear them out. If we do not do this....we are doomed.

9 年I agree with Dr. Sewell. I've also studied the patterns of propaganda and can say with confidence this man would be dangerous to both the Republic and the world. Listen to his words closely. Who does he demonize and who does he not? It's okay to feel anger at the current shenanigans stemming from Congress and the Executive branch. Be careful, however, about choosing a cure that is worse than the disease.

9 年I believe the later option is more accurate. For anyone who is seeking to be the leader of the free world to make the statement he did regarding clearly illegal orders is unacceptable. It tells us either he is ignorant of the law (not an excuse) or he thought his persona could pull it off to the applause of his minions. Both are equally disqualifying in my mind. Some of his apologists will suggest he didn't really mean it and it's not that big a deal, but haven't we have had enough apologies? It is a time for choosing, and I choose Cruz.
