While the concept of remote work has gained immense popularity and offers flexibility, it is crucial to be aware of certain realities.

In recent times, there has been an increase in job postings that claim to be remote positions but are, in fact, hybrid roles requiring a combination of remote and on-site work. This means that while the job may provide some flexibility to work remotely, there might still be a requirement to be physically present at specific locations or adhere to certain time zones.

As we continue to provide you with job opportunities in the podcasting and audio industry, we want to emphasize the importance of conducting your own due diligence before applying to any job. While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, some job listings may contain errors or have expired / been filled, or the company may have no intention of hiring at all. Additionally, some job listings may be designed to exploit applicants.

We also want to remind you to exercise caution with jobs that do not list a salary or pay range. It is important to know what you will be paid for your work before accepting a job offer. If a company is not transparent about compensation, it may be a red flag.

We encourage you to thoroughly research each job opportunity before submitting an application or accepting an offer. This includes researching the company, reading reviews from current and former employees, and asking questions during the interview process.

An Open Letter to Tom Webster

Steve Pratt, formerly of Pacific Content , has written an open letter to Tom Webster at Sounds Profitable , highlighting concerns that Webster’s book, The Audience Is Listening , is not getting the promotion it merits in the podcasting community. Pratt acknowledges Webster's humility but suggests it may limit the book's visibility and influence. He compares the situation to a renowned filmmaker casually mentioning their latest project in a lengthy newsletter. Pratt offers several marketing ideas, including creative promotional strategies and ways to engage the community, and concludes with a humorous proposal for unique advertising methods at industry events. The letter aims to motivate Webster to fully embrace and share his creative accomplishments, which would ultimately benefit the podcasting industry as a whole.

Chartable is Shutting down

Spotify has announced plans to sunset Chartable , the podcast analytics platform, with features being phased out by December 12, 2024. This decision aligns with Spotify 's commitment to offering impactful, scalable products for podcast creators.

As a power user of Chartable, this news is disappointing but not entirely unexpected. The podcast industry seems to just begun a cycle of either integrating standalone services with flagship products and or sunsetting acquisitions, and Chartable is following that trend.

Chartable’s features will remain available until December 12, 2024. All paid features will be made free, and refunds will be issued to prepaid users.

Dan Misener of Bumper , shares his thoughts on what can be used instead of Chartable
