Independent and flexible production - even with compressed air!

The advantage of mobile robot tables or self-sufficient assembly islands is that they can be used independently without the need for complex integration into existing systems. Whether pick-and-place, machine loading or assembly - the possible tasks are diverse. Depending on the requirements and area of application, electric end effectors are not always the first choice.

At first glance, pneumatic components are significantly cheaper to purchase. For many manufacturers, an electric end effector is out of the question for this reason alone. This means that they can operate at higher speeds and forces, making them ideal for applications that require high holding forces.

But what if you have opted for a pneumatic component, but there is no compressed air connection at the desired location? In this case, the flexibility of the robot table does not have to be restricted. The Zimmer Group's electropneumatic power unit closes this gap and offers several advantages and benefits.

Mini power unit in a class of its own

The unit has been specially optimized for components with low air consumption and enables energy-efficient use thanks to dynamic pressure adjustment. This allows the operating pressure to be selected depending on the consumer. The mini compressor works with a 24-volt power supply and is therefore energy-saving and cost-effective.

Several components can be controlled independently of each other, making it ideal for applications with different consumers. For example, two independently controllable valves can be used to implement different process sequences. The electropneumatic unit therefore also supports the flexible and efficient automation of processes.

Lightweight and compact for universal use

One of the biggest advantages of the electropneumatic unit is probably its lightweight and compact design, which enables positioning close to the consumer and therefore very fast opening and closing times. With its space-saving size, the unit is unique in its class. Thanks to the simple control and 24V technology, the product is predestined for mobile units with battery supply, such as robot tables or driverless transport systems.
