Flatten the Curve: Staying Connected
During this difficult time, many of our customers are concerned about Business Continuity and simply staying connected with teams as we learn how operate remotely, doing our part to “flatten the curve” with the spread of COVID-19.
Working from home can be challenging for some, and it can be easy to overload. Below are some tips that may help you:
1. Adjust meeting times to allow for breaks. Schedule 25 or 50 minute meetings instead of 30 or 60 to leave time for breaks. Get up, drink water, and move…get the blood moving and stretch your legs.
2. Look for ways to stay connected as a team. The easy route is more email. Don’t do easy. Make an effort and set up group chats - group texts - group video. Get comfortable with video chat and stay connected. Use it to just say hey! PRO TIP: set up a recurring standup meeting for your team 2X per week – no agenda, just an opportunity to see faces and CONNECT!
3. Set boundaries by clearly defining the time you’re online with your team. Do you workout? Don’t stop…set personal time and put it on your calendar and SWEAT. Make the time you need for you, your family and your personal obligations. If you’re going to be out for an extended period - set up a path for escalation.
4. Make sure to find time to disconnect. Working from home can be make it difficult for you to separate work from life. Make time to shut it down and recharge.
Stay Positive. Educate Yourself. Be Prepared. Be Productive.
