Almost every organization is following agile software development methods, KANBAN is one of the methods which is very effective and easy to follow

I have listed some tips for effective usage of KANBAN for software development which can be used as a flash card or as a quick help

  1. Make it as visual as possible
  2. Strictly limit WIP to less than 3
  3. Start discussion of the cards from Right to Left
  4. Better to capture all the development steps as per work flow
  5. It always helps to have the Definition of Done pasted on the board
  6. Paste the Project Road map so The Big Picture is not lost
  7. Always map impediments to particular a task
  8. Transfer your critical impediments to your RISK list
  9. Encourage the team to PULL
  10. E boards are flexible than Physical boards and better for traceability
