As a contemporary curator in Africa, my journey morphed from 5 years of tutelage in History & the act of diplomacy at the University of Abuja. I have since those days of learning about historical materialism & historical analysis in classrooms, as well as understanding the difference between European History and African history is a gaping hole in African history which inspired somewhat of a new movement termed "Re-constructing African History". Where contemporary historians here are plagued with how to tell authentic African history?, how to write about them from monoliths, shrapnels & excavations?. My most simple quests have thus been making authentic history interesting, documentation & research.

I think I found that in the Baudelaire's assessment & hence birth of Flaneurs, history and more importantly art history is all around us. The effective documentation of today, the art now in it's many forms circa's from now will be history. A way to inform on the cultural dynamism we ourselves have now. This is an aspect on my take on Afro-futurism.?

Baudelaire's Flaneur is one who observes it metropoles, he is more than a passante or aimless wanderer as he collects materials through keen observation of all that is now, and when he puts a pen to paper, the words will echo themselves.

?If found amongst shrapnels and dead things to inform the future of our happenings, we are in ourselves history and perhaps this is more a letter on re-entry into the Flaneur historian and a critic on his authenticity.
