To add?texture and tone to?a warm and inviting atmosphere, Flack Studio used Haymes Paint Artisan?range, complementing In?Bed’s beautiful linen.?

About the Space?

In Bed is?a?home?goods retailer?whose?ethos centres around creating timeless products in a responsible way.?Their product range includes homewares, bedding,?sleepwear,and?towels.?

The Project?

The?intention behind the design?was to?create a?tranquil?atmosphere that emulates the?beautiful?textural qualities of In?Bed’s product range.?

In Bed called upon the expertise of?Flack Studio, a multi-disciplinary?design and architecture agency?in Melbourne Victoria, Construction Zone, and Grillo Painting Services.??

The Product?

By using Haymes Paint’s Artisan Rendercoat in a custom?“Cave”?finish, an organic, earthy texture was achieved that mimicked the impression of cave walls.?

The Application?

To achieve a bold textural statement that looked?irregular?and uneven, just like?materials?found in nature. The top layer of Rendercoat was?troweled?across to create?greater?depth?than regular application, mimicking the?granular?appearance?of sandstone.??

The colour “Blushing Beige” was chosen?to?soften the coarseness of the?Rendercoat. The warm ochre undertones of this shade transform?the effect of the render from something harsh to a?cosy, relaxing effect.?It was?also?crucial that the render colour complimented the other?materials selected for the project, such as the speckled pink, terracotta and brown terrazzo tiles?used on the flooring.?

By?cleverly combining organic?textures and colours?with the help of?Haymes Paint Artisan?Rendercoat,?Flack Studio and?have created a striking?example of how?to?curate?a warm and inviting?interior space.?
