Reasoning Behind the Changes:
The Florida Legislature approved these changes to make the scholarship more accessible to a wider range of students. The adjustment in test score requirements is due to the threshold percentiles required by Florida?and corresponding national test percentile drop.
It's crucial to understand that while the requirements have been "softened" slightly, this does not necessarily mean they are easier to achieve. The changes reflect a response to lower overall performance on standardized tests rather than a deliberate easing of standards.
Impact on Students:

2 周Yes, I was also wondering about a link to this information. The official Bright Futures Handbook still says 1330 for SAT for Spring 2026 graduates and I am not finding any legislation from this year that contains the score changes listed in this post.

2 个月This is great news for the future of university. I wonder how much the decline in enrollment was part of this decision? More students will be able to say “Yes” to college. The small increments of change also maintain the integrity of the award while making it more accessible. I suspect, however, that with the digital testing now implemented we are seeing a more accurate result of student performance as the algorithms adjust to the students during the tests. Either way, this feels like a win for everyone…except the class of 2025 ?? This is useful data for my test analysis and performance curriculum. Thank you for sharing.

3 个月As an educator I believe the change is welcoming, but it you are trying to help students attend college, it should of been lowered a little more. I would love to see the data showing the impact it will have lowering one point.
