Fix it up or knock it down and start from scratch?

Fix it up or knock it down and start from scratch?

When Covid-19 hit the UK, there was a sudden surge in people who, after spending more time in their homes than ever before, decided that they would benefit from a change and wanted to move house. Today, the instability of the mortgage market has left homeowners reconsidering their options, with many now opting to work with what they’ve already got, rather than starting from scratch. There is much to be gained from changing the flow of a house, and there are plenty of clever ways to refresh a home so it meets all of the needs of its inhabitants.

Where open plan living was a popular interior design move a few years ago, many more people are now deciding to create separate living spaces within the home in order to create a more cosy, hygge, feel throughout the house. Creating separate living spaces within a home offers new opportunities for exciting interior design and décor, and every room can be created with a different aesthetic in mind.

In some cases, choosing to rework the existing layout of the home negates the need for major building work and costly extensions. Interior design can often be used in a way that makes the space feel much more spacious than it actually is!

Another major benefit to reworking an existing layout, is the ability to breathe new life into outdated interiors, or rooms that are in need of restoration.
