Last week, I had a coaching session with an old friend; she was going through some time when she needed clarity on the way forward in her career & life; we had a great conversation, and one of my notes to her was related to how she was identifying way too many issues to fix in her life, which may not necessarily what she needs to do... I shared with her this example that I heard a long time ago from a mentor, and it still sticks with me wherever I go.
Imagine that You are playing tennis, but what you don’t know is that there is a nail pinning you to the ground. While you are playing, you don’t know the thing that is holding you back. You only know that your ability is being blocked by something.
And since you don’t know what the REAL root of the problem is, you start by observing SEVERAL PROBLEMS holding you from playing tennis.
?“I Can't Move right.”
?“I Can't Move left.”
?“I Can't Jump”
?“I can’t shoot the ball right.”

?THE RESULT >> I CAN’T PLAY TENNIS!
Someone comes to draw your attention to the pin. At that moment, you realize your obstacle to winning the game. You remove the pin, and suddenly, your efforts during the play decrease, and your abilities and accomplishments increase. You used to think that the problem was from your legs or your lack of practice in tennis, but actually, the problem was a simple nail.

So a simple everyday reality is that the things holding us BIG from Moving Forward could be a minimal issue that we may not be aware of, which is easily fixed.?
As you review your life problems and issues, Ask yourself this question:
"Is this a peripheral problem? Or is it a REAL problem? What other related problems would vanish after I fix this particular one?"
So for this week's tip, I would like to ask you a simple task which is to find the thing hammering down your accomplishments and blocking your creativity from being noticed by others. Find them and remove them from your life. Free yourself of all obstacles in the way.
Have a great week!
