Fix the Leak! It is in How you Meet.

Fix the Leak! It is in How you Meet.

But fix ye first the way you meet; and gather and all these things shall be added unto you. Stop for a minute and look at your organization, business, institution, classroom, constituency, or wherever you work. Are you truly content with the progress? Sure, there might be aspects that bring a smile to your face, but let's be real – there's always room for improvement. What's missing? What's lacking? Dive deep, and you'll find a laundry list: organizational culture, customer retention, financial woes, productivity puzzles, budgetary headaches, and the list goes on.

Think about it – the friends I treasure or keep for a while are those who gave me their undivided attention, who listened intently while also creating an environment that stimulated my thoughts during our conversations. That's the kind of engagement we should strive for in our meetings, isn't it? Imagine if every meeting felt like a valuable conversation with a trusted friend – wouldn't that be a game-changer?

I learned invaluable lessons from the Anew School of Facilitation in South Africa that revolutionized my approach to problem-solving within organizations. It taught me that identifying issues is only half the battle; the real magic happens when you craft purposeful meetings that serve as incubators for innovative solutions. It's about creating a space where every voice is heard, every perspective is valued, and every idea is nurtured.

So, imagine channeling that energy into your organization's gatherings. Instead of mundane meetings that drain your team's enthusiasm, why not transform them into dynamic sessions where creativity thrives and solutions emerge organically? It's not just about fixing problems; it's about fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation that propels your organization forward.

Sure, it might sound too good to be true – the idea that simply changing how we meet could solve more than half of our challenges. But what if it's not just wishful thinking? What if it's the missing piece of the puzzle that unlocks your organization's full potential? It's worth a shot, isn't it? After all, the greatest transformations often begin with a simple shift in perspective.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts so simply and powerfully, Jancan. You hit the nail on the head. Meetings is one of those hidden costs in any organisation that can quickly drain an organisation when not done well. Luckily, the reverse is also true and therein lies the opportunity!
