Fix These Bad Habits To Get Past The ATS

There's still time to find your next job by year-end.

But first, you'll need to fix some bad job search habits, so you can get past Applicant Tracking Systems more often - If you want your job search to go quickly in November-December and find a job by year-end 2024.

Here are some bad habit fixes that will help you get past the ATS:

• Don't Apply With Standard Resumes: Applying with a standard resume (your base resume template) gives you almost no chance of landing interviews, since it's not customized to job requirements. Even if you're applying for the "same job", different hiring managers have different needs.
• Don't Apply With Your LinkedIn Profile: For the same reasons as your standard resume, you can't modify your LinkedIn profile for an individual recipient. When you send the same non-customized resume to many jobs, you don't look like a good fit to employers.
• Don't Send A .pdf Resume: Most ATSs don't read .pdfs as a standard format, causing delays and risking translation errors, all of which gets your resume rejected.

This is just a sample of bad habits you've been taught that cause your resume to be rejected by Applicant Tracking Systems.
