Participating in Bangkit Academy, Ied by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, and Traveloka, has been a transformative journey. Throughout this journey, I’ve faced many challenges, and here I’ll share five ways that I adapted to overcome these challenges during my time at Bangkit 2024 Batch 2.
Ways of Interacting
Bangkit introduced me to diverse people from various backgrounds and ages. I had to adjust to interacting with peers from different backgrounds, also since Bangkit uses English as the main communication language, I needed to overcome the language barrier. Weekly consultations and ILT helped me learn the importance of listening and empathetic communication. Over time, I gained confidence in interacting across cultures, expanding my perspective and collaborative skills.
Ways of Achieving
I set clear goals to achieve good grades in Bangkit from the start. The tight schedule of Bangkit pushed me to adapt my approach to achieving these goals. Through prioritizing tasks effectively, and collaborating with peers, I stayed flexible. Adopting a growth mindset, I turned setbacks into chances for improvement, it guided me toward my goals.

Ways of Learning
Learning cloud computing from Google Cloud was challenging, especially with Bangkit's tight schedule. Completing intensive cloud computing courses in a short period required me to explore additional resources like YouTube and discussions on Discord. I didn’t just stick to the curriculum but I actively sought out additional learning materials and kept refining my understanding of key concepts.
Ways of Working
Bangkit offers flexibility with both synchronous and asynchronous learning, this requires me to have self-discipline to avoid procrastination. I used tools like Google Calendar to manage tasks and the Eisenhower Matrix to help me prioritize tasks by urgency and importance. Through this iterative process of adaptation, I refined my working strategy to optimize my productivity and maintain consistency.
Ways of Thinking
Bangkit has shifted my mindset towards a growth mindset, encouraging me to see challenges as opportunities to learn. Initially, seeing other peers with more experience than me made me question myself “Is it too late?”. However, I learned to focus on my growth rather than comparing myself to others. Bangkit reminds me that setbacks are part of the learning process. With this mindset, I embraced challenges, sought feedback, and saw every difficulty as a chance to improve.
