It all starts when a carpet cleaner or cleaning company buy their kit , 99 times out of a 100 the training only covers cleaning using that manufacturers machine and methodology. At a guess I would say 99% of all machines sold are of the hot water extraction variety and totally unsuitable for cleaning commercial carpet tiles.
Let me explain why
Carpet Tiles have a built-in layer of bitumen tar which keeps them stable and resistant to wear from heavy traffic. However, when it comes to cleaning, traditional hot water systems become a problem, the layer of bitumen is impervious and doesn’t allow air to pass through it. making the recovery of the injected water and any cleaning solution all but irrecoverable. With minimal results from one pass of the cleaning wand the operator will usually try 3 or four passes, injecting more and more water into the carpet and is likely to result in the following:

9 个月So expensive they let them get minging then expect a carpet cleaner to perform miracles! We did a 1000sq mtr job the carpet tiled floor had been down 20yrs + and no amount of cleaning will remove the heavy traffic area wear and tear. We explained we could remove the usual tea, coffee and sandwich stains but couldnt promise it wouldnt look any better once it dried as you can get wickback, its about managing expectations If clients are expecting a shiny new carpet look its not happening. Sometimes investment is needed for a new floor. Yet this debate will roll on, dry buffering over HWE, is like arguing Pep is better than Fergie, 6mths later and no call back so Im presuming they were happy as we got paid ??
