I worked full-time with Vahan.ai from 2019 - 2021 and led their indirect supply acquisition & growth channel that saw a stupendous growth of over 10x in less than eight months - supercharging us to enabling jobs to thousands of people every month.

My journey with Vahan.ai was nothing short of a roller-coaster dream ride before I moved on to explore my area of interest exiting with strong support and well wishes from the leadership team. I want to share the top five reasons why I think the brightest minds from the startup ecosystem should consider applying for relevant roles.

1. Good Culture Nurtures Great Talent

Culture and cultural values take a prime seat at Vahan.ai. The leadership team takes immense effort every year to re-align the cultural values for the entire organization through an 'All Hands' where the personal cultural values of every employee in the organization is heard. The top values with maximum overlap are charted as the cultural values for the organization. The entire organization works as an extended family with multiple events dedicated to 'Mental Health', 'Wellness', Upskilling, etc. In fact Vahan mandates every employee to take 2 days of wellness leave over and beyond the other leaves provided. And they also dedicate extra budgets for all employees only for upskilling.

2. Meritocracy Over Hierarchy

The leadership at Vahan.ai values meritocracy in its truest essence. If you are the one really driving results and you've demonstrated the maturity to step up to the next level - whatever your age or experience - they go over and beyond to pave the growth ladder for the team member. The legacy-old system of promotion by mere seniority, etc that limits growth for employees is challenged as a fundamental principle. The high bar for talent naturally means the exceptional quality of peers throughout the organization.

3. OKR Driven Approach

One thing I cherish the most from my time at Vahan and I wish more startups follow for success is Vahan.ai's approach to driving the entire business as OKR first. The team does a fantastic job in building OKR(s) through bottom-up planning followed by a top-down prioritization. Every single stakeholder is given a chance to create their own OKRs based on the guiding milestone the organization thrives to achieve. The feeling of being heard and allowing employees to partake in their performance metrics goes a long way toward instilling accountability and responsibility. A highly objective performance evaluation reduces bias, unfair evaluation, and a standard scale for every employee to measure his/her progress over the course of their time in the organization making way for an effective performance evaluation.

4. Cross-Functional Org Structure

At every level, the folks at Vahan have designed a cross-functional working culture which means every employee gets the chance to be exposed across various functional elements of the growth-driven startup. As an Ops person, I had a shared goal with the product team, customer success team, AI & Data Science team, etc. This means all the brains from various verticals come together to solve the toughest problem and the diverse opinions and ideas result in breakthrough solutions.

5. Hardest Problem Statement = Highest Job Satisfaction.

At Vahan.ai - the team is enabling jobs for the blue and the grey collar workers. India alone has about 300 million blue & grey collar workers and it is Vahan's goal to impact the lives of one billion people globally.
