  • Theron's favorite toy or game? Clue.?

??Why Hasbro??

I was drawn by Hasbro’s commitment to sustainability and its supportive work environment. It's a place where innovative ideas are welcomed, and there's a strong focus on making a positive impact on the environment. I've seen firsthand how dedicated Hasbro is to its ESG goals, and it's inspiring to be part of a team that truly makes a difference.? ?

??ESG 101.?

I lead the ESG team, which focuses on health, safety, and environmental sustainability while working with other internal teams on Hasbro’s social and governance programs. We're responsible for Hasbro’s annual ESG report, which we just published last week. For a key component of the report, we engage with various stakeholders to calculate Hasbro's carbon footprint. This involves tracking everything from raw materials to consumer use, across the entire supply chain, to quantify our greenhouse gas emissions.?

As a company, we face various environmental challenges, from sourcing sustainable materials to navigating regulatory landscapes. Staying updated on the latest reports, regulations, and standards is crucial. ?

??A two-way street.?

When it comes to influencing business decisions, it’s a two-way street: sometimes the business comes to us for guidance, and other times we raise concerns about potential impacts. We’re always on the lookout for opportunities to guide our product, brand, and supply chain teams towards sustainable solutions. We’ll do things like consolidate data, run lifecycle assessments, and help folks understand the full implications of their business decisions. In each instance, there are inevitably nuances and trade-offs to evaluate, like in the case of plastics. But there are also a lot of opportunities for easy wins.?

?

??The retail imperative.?

Sustainability is important to our partners, including major retailers like 沃尔玛 in the U.S. and 家乐福 in France. For example, Walmart's Gigaton initiative, which started in 2017, aims to reduce a gigaton of carbon emissions from its supply chain by 2030. Through our annual reporting to Walmart, we quantify the carbon emission savings we have achieved through various programs and initiatives across the company.?Sustainability certifications on consumer products are becoming the norm. Many regions like Europe are mandating stronger regulations, including more transparent labeling, and adding recycled content to packaging. We’re already planning and aligning our practices globally to meet these mandates – all while ensuring quality remains our top priority. ?

?

??Winning with green games.?

We've made significant strides recently, particularly with Hasbro’s Games team, achieving FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification for responsibly sourced paper. We're also working with 亚马逊 to earn the Climate Pledge Friendly badge for products with qualifying sustainability certifications. There’s lots of exciting stuff coming, as our portfolio of FSC-certified products grows. As a team, we really do feel that we can make a difference and help protect the planet through toys and games.

Me and a friend would incorporates gambling into Monopoly when we played. If you rolled doubles you'd pick player to gamble with. You'd make a minimum bet(I can't remember what it was) and the other player could raise if they wanted. We'd roll the dice and whoever got the highest combo won. It was fun but I've wondered if Monopoly could include this on the board as playing the stockmarket? #Monopoly
