Can you give us an insight into your career path and how you ended up working within the lab industry?
After earning my MBA and gaining experience in software marketing, I became the Sales and Marketing Manager at Organomation. The company, known for its reliable sample preparation instruments, needed someone to expand its global presence. During my initial interview, I presented strategies I was eager to implement, and over the last 12 years, it has been incredibly rewarding to grow the Organomation brand internationally.
I’ve also discussed this in a video for the Laboratory Products Association: Watch here.
What is something that keeps you motivated within the industry or what influences your decisions on how you work?
The equipment we manufacture plays a crucial role in obtaining meaningful results, such as testing for PFAS in water or identifying metabolic disorders in newborns. Accurate sample preparation is essential, as it’s often a key failure point. It’s deeply fulfilling to support researchers who rely on our evaporators to ensure the accuracy of their work.
Where do you see either you or the future of the lab industry going?
The rapid advancements in AI and automation will continue accelerating progress, empowering researchers to address even bigger challenges. I plan to keep representing Organomation at conferences and through laboratory visits, constantly learning how to develop better tools for the chromatographers of tomorrow.
Thank you for sharing five minutes with us, David!
