In a recent LinkedIn Live interview between Lynnaire Johnston and The Go-Giver co-author Bob Burg , Bob explained the 5 laws of stratospheric success, which we share here with you.
?? The Law of Value – your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.
The experience you provide a person from the moment you meet them, through the relationship building process, should constantly provide value. Make them feel good about themselves, about the situation and about you. By the time you're doing business with each other, they feel great about you – as though they've received much more in value than they've paid, while you at the same time, make a healthy profit.
?? The Law of Compensation – your income is determined by how many people you serve, and how well you serve them.
While the law of value represents your potential income, the law of compensation represents your actual income, because it's all about how many lives you impact. It's not enough just to serve one or a few people, you need to expand your reach. Exceptional value plus significant reach equals very high compensation.
?? The Law of Influence – your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people's interests first.
This doesn't mean you're a doormat, a martyr, or self-sacrificial. But all things being equal, people do business with and refer business to people they know, like and trust. And there's no faster, more powerful or effective way to elicit those feelings from others than by genuinely moving from an ‘I’ or ‘me’ focus to a focus on them. Make your win all about the other person's win.

?? The Law of Authenticity – the most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.
All the skills in the world – the sales skills, technical skills, people skills – are for naught if you don't come at it from your true, authentic core. When you show up as yourself day after day, week, after week, month after month, people feel good about you, they feel comfortable with you, they feel safe with you. They know who they're getting and in a world that can be very inconsistent this type of consistency is not only valued, it's treasured. When you are authentic, and they know what they're getting, it's much more likely you'll be able to not just cultivate but keep that trust.
?? The Law of Receptivity – the key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.
Giving and receiving are not opposite concepts but the world tells us otherwise. The anti-prosperity mindset suggests anyone who does well financially must have done it on the backs of others or through nefarious means.
Nobody has to buy from us. They buy because they believe it will be in their best interest. The onus is on us to focus on bringing immense value to them. Money is simply an echo of value. It is a natural result of the value you've provided. You are not a giver or a receiver, you are a giver and a receiver.
But giving comes first. We give before we receive. When we do this by giving great value, we create a benevolent context for success.
