Five hundred Hindu Rohingyas victims in Bangladesh

In Rakhine of Myanmar, Hindu Rohingyas are one per cent of the total population. Hindu Rohingyas living in Rakhine were not even able to escape the deadly attack on August 25, 2017. They fled to Bangladesh along with Muslim Rohingyas to save lives from the attack of Myanmar Army and the Buddhist youth. At this time, Five hundred Hindu Rohingyas from about 100 families took shelter in Bangladesh. The Hindu Rohingyas, who took shelter in Bangladesh, said that the Hindu Rohingyas also became the victim of attack along with the Muslim Rohingyas on August 25.

Bangladesh Army and the Cox's Bazar Civil Administration granted temporary shelter to Hindu Rohingyas in West Kutupalang. 30 Hindus and four Buddist families are living there. Besides, Bangladesh, the Indian government has also allocated special relief to Hindu Rohingyas. In the beginning, cooked foods were distributed for Hindu Rohingyas. High-quality Latrines were also given to the Hindu Rohingyas at that time.

Hindu Rohingyas who fled from August 25 to early September 2017 reported that the houses of Hindu and Muslim Rohingyas adjacent to each other, the attacks were carried out indiscriminately, along with the houses of the Muslim Rohingyas. The face structure of Buddhist, Chakma, Marma and other minorities are the same as the Buddhist majority in Rakhine. So everyone can easily recognize the Buddhists. But the Hindus and Muslims are looked same, so many Hindu Rohingyas are coming under attack considering them as Muslim.

At that time, different media reports revealed that the Hindu Rohingyas had fled to Bangladesh to escape the Myanmar Army attack. The Hindu Rohingyas who had taken shelter in Bangladesh changed their mind afterwards. They said that the Rohingya Muslims, not the Myanmar army attack the Hindu Rohingyas.

I have a chat with Chitta Ranjan Paul a Hindu Rohingya of Kutupalang camp. His father is Rajendra Paul. They had a home in Chikanchari in Maungdu district of Rakhine. Chitta Ranjan took refuge in Bangladesh with nine family members. He said Muslims do not have citizenship in Myanmar, neither any card. However, the Hindu Rohingyas have cards for each, where it is written as foreign (Indian Hindus).

Subhas Rudra-father Kiran Rudra. Their home was in the Payra market in Chickonchiri in Maundu district of Rakhine. Subhas Rudra said that they fled to Bangladesh by the attack of Muslim Rohingyas terrorist organization Al-Yakin. Al Yakin killed many Hindu Rohingyas. Many women were forced to convert to Muslims. He said that on the night of August 25, about 10,000 Hindu Rohingyas were attacked in Nagpur, Buthidaung and Bolibazar.

Anjali Rudra said the Myanmar Army treated the civilians very well. But Muslim Rohingyas create all the trouble. Muslim Rohingyas attacked the Hindus. She said the Myanmar government had given the Hindu Rohingyas cards as Indian citizens. But they do not have citizenship in Myanmar. Only if the Myanmar government gives citizenship they will return to Myanmar. They are keen to go to India if the Myanmar government does not want them back.

There is no Muslim Rohingya in Rakhine right now, so there is no fear of attack to the Hindu Rohingyas. So why don't they go back to their land in Rakhine? On such a question, Malati Bala, wife of Subhas Rudra, said that the Myanmar government will not grant them citizenship, as a result, they are not going to Rakhine. They want to go to India if they don't get citizenship in Myanmar.

The media has again expressed their opinions and published reports that The Hindu Rohingyas who fled Myanmar blamed the Muslim Rohingyas for the attacks.

On October 17, 2017, Ahrar Hossain, reports at the BBC Bengali online portal that ‘a group of Hindus fled from Myanmar, said that they were
