Compliments of the Season to you and your family!
As we all prepare to enter the holiday season of giving and receiving, we should also consider the tools, tips, and techniques to improve our craft in the New Year.
What are some of the things you can do better to make the New Year most impactful?
What will success look like to you in 2023 and how can you measure it?
What could you have done better in 2022 and how can you avoid the same pitfalls in 2023?
How can you become more equitable, inclusive, and honourable in your mentality, leadership, and relationships in 2023?
What are some of the areas you wish to improve on in the New Year?
Perhaps, it is to strengthen your influence, brand equity and value proposition.
How about enhancing your mentality, mental health, and corporate culture?
What are some of the intangible gifts you can offer yourself that would go a long way to help you to finish 2022 strong and start 2023 even stronger?
As for me, 2022 was quite a tumultuous year, filled with significant successes that I am super-proud of but also with surprises that life never prepares us for.
Therefore, you may want to consider offering yourself some life-changing gifts, intangible ones that are bound to strengthen your resolve for self-care, social justice, and exponential growth in every area of your life.
GIFT #1 – PHYSICAL HEALTH
While many people from most parts of the world will not have enough food to truly celebrate the holidays, and therefore not be too worried about putting on extra weight, most people from many Western countries will have too much to eat and drink and are even bound to waste the leftovers.
Despite the category you fall into, lack or abundance, it is quite necessary that you give yourself the Gift of Physical Health this Christmas and holiday season. If you are sleep deprived, catch up this season and if you need to lose some body weight, set a target, and get to work.
You don’t even need to have a gym membership to be healthy – if you can walk, walk. If you can run, run. Everyone can do sit-ups at home or use a YouTube video to guide themselves through physical exercises to become healthier throughout the holidays.
GIFT #2 – MENTAL HEALTH
No matter how physically strong you are, if you are weak mentally, you are impoverished.
Even if you are strong spiritually and yet allow yourself to be overwhelmed by the complexities of life, making yourself overly available to everyone, things, and situations, sooner or later, you will lose it.
Your head, that is.
One of the most effective ways to improve your mental health is to be socially active with those who truly care about you. It is also beneficial to reach out to friends and families to check up on them while being quite open with how you are doing, especially with your mental struggles.
We can and should never underestimate the purpose, power, and potential of relationships.
If someone breaks your heart, work hard to mend it, and pray and hope for friendship with someone else. If we are not as open as necessary to relate with others effectively, seek professional help like coaching to avoid the detrimental impact of resisting relationships.
There are about seven billion people in the world and connection and socialization with each other is an innate desire of everyone. Please do not be alone or lonely during the holidays.

GIFT #3 – EMOTIONAL HEALTH
During the year, depending on your work and life environment, you would have likely bottled up some emotions that are begging to let loose. If you are human, then some people have likely hurt you during this year and you have likely done the same to others, whether consciously or subconsciously.
Therefore, why not give yourself the Gift of Emotional Health, taking the time to identify and release yourself from all emotional tensions? To forgive yourself and others are not just a nice thing to do but a critical decision that could literarily save your life.
If you are struggling with anger or rage, bitterness, or resentment, make every effort to rid yourselves of these before the last day of this year. While all these intangible gifts are very important to give yourself, this one has a greater impact on the other gifts.
Emotions are the outcome of your thoughts and therefore an effective measurement of where you stand in almost everything in life. To be successful in life and be exceptional leaders, we must acknowledge our thoughts and feelings.
The fundamental difference between emotional health and mental health is that emotional health is the ability to have fulfilling relationships and manage emotions like anger, fear, shame, and sadness while mental health is the ability to think, deeply, and thoroughly before making decisions and taking actions.

GIFT #4 –SPIRITUAL HEALTH
One of the greatest realizations I came to almost three decades ago was that everything we see, hear, feel and think and know is nothing compared to what can never see, hear, feel, think and know.
This may sound philosophical, but who truly knows tomorrow?

How truly can we be aware of what is going on inside of us?
How about what is going on with, inside and around other people?
No matter how much we know about many things due to technological advancement and increasing access to information, we find that there are many things we know nothing about.
Some research indicates that about half a million people pass away every day and yet no one can ever determine who will make or not make that list naturally every day.
Just like many people confuse emotional health for mental health, many also confuse spirituality for religiosity; they are quite different.
Spirituality is the mature way of embracing life with the humble awareness that everything was created, and everything shall work for the good of those who believe.
On the other hand, religiosity involves organize and sometimes quite rigid ways of practicing faith and spiritual activities through a routine or ritual.
The concept of loving your neighbour as yourself is spiritual, but the expectation that I go to every neighbour and express my love is religious.
While there is nothing wrong with both philosophies, spirituality is a thought process that is way more impactful than religion with some expectations that even those in positions of authority cannot attain.?
No matter what or who you choose to believe in, or even if you choose to believe in nothing, it doesn’t change the fact that there are just far too many aspects of life we have no control over. It doesn’t diminish who you are and what you were created to do.
Faith, I have learned is like currency.
It can afford you many benefits based on how much of it you have. No matter how smart, talented, connected, wealthy or healthy we are, we are nothing but a speck in the sand when we humble ourselves enough to think about the big picture.
GIFT #5 –FINANCIAL HEALTH
Money is one of the most interesting concepts in the world.
Like love, leadership and relationship, money can be quite powerful or detrimental depending on how well you know about it, manage it, and leverage it for satisfaction and fulfillment.
While many are completely ignorant about the concept of money, some are spending their lives daily in pursuit of it while others have mastered the art of using money as opposed to being used by money.
Which of these categories do you belong to?
Are you being used by money or is money using you?
Are you still working for money to live or is money working for you to give?
For sure, this is a gift I will be giving myself this Christmas season – to learn more about it and how to eventually get my money employed to work for me for the betterment of my children, children’s children and for generations to come.
I will be giving myself the gift of some financial courses to learn about other investment vehicles and expand into investments like gold and real estate. If you wish to share some of your ideas, please connect with me soonest.
What is your financial target for 2023?
What were some of the financial mistakes you made this year that you must avoid next year?
How can you invest even the little you have to increase your savings for rainy days so to speak?
