Five essential Martini variations and a great charity initiative

The Summer of Sport is here. After successful client support at the F1 British Grand Prix and The Open we’re now in a catering tent. In Paris. For some little-known sporting event. You might have heard of it.

Here’s the best ideas, reads and tips we’ve loved this month:

One Amazing Experience: Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony

The most unique events need two things: an incredible concept, and flawless delivery.

Using your entire city as your event venue? C’est magnifique! (We’ve been practicing, can you tell?)

We loved this breakdown of the Paris Olympics opening ceremony by Trish Knox.

Bravo to the stage managers on the day; we hope wherever you are, you’re having a well-deserved break.

One Amazing Initiative: Maria Ensesa on Only A Pavement Away's "Fill a Flask" Campaign + getting into events

Maria Ensesa from Only A Pavement Away

We've been fans of Only A Pavement Away for a long time so when the opportunity came up to support their Fill a Flask campaign it was a no-brainer.

"Fill a Flask is a campaign we run every year to bring awareness to those forced to live on the streets, as well as to connect our employers and our charity partners together, so they both get a deeper understanding of what each other do and how their connections have an impact," says Maria Ensesa, Head of Events and Campaigns.

"Initially, the campaign started by giving out flasks for coffee & water to rough sleepers and has now developed into a volunteering day at one of our charity partners, which everyone enjoys even more. The volunteers can see how much giving a few hours of your day can help as many charities need volunteers on a regular basis."

Read the full interview to discover Maria's tips for managing a large scale event like the Fill A Flask campaign, as well as advice for those getting started in the events industry.

Get involved: you can support Only A Pavement Away in a number of ways, by joining their fundraising events, by donating directly, or even just re-sharing their posts.
