The Five C's: A Leadership Framework

Early in my career, I established a personal leadership framework that still guides me today. Although it has been slightly modified and began as four key attributes I needed to excel at as a leader, it largely remains the same. This framework has been extremely helpful to me as I have engaged and influenced at the senior levels of organizations, mentored and coached others, and pursued my personal mission of making a positive difference in people's lives every day. I share it with you and hope it can be helpful to you on your leadership journey.

  1. Communicate vision and direction
  2. Create alignment through the organization
  3. Connect with others and influence through relationships
  4. Champion the organization every day
  5. Cultivate a culture where excellence and compassion thrive
