Five Community Partner Updates
?- The Beach Collective are delighted to announce the winners of two bounty competitions sponsored by Future Quest . Big congratulations to Weiyena Wei ???? who will take home a top prize of $500 USDC for winning our logo design competition for #BeachCarbon. niceface and baconpancakez came 2nd and 3rd and will take home $100 each. And big congratulations also to Fahsa, Alisa and Robert who will each be receiving $100 in USDC for a competition to make the best post on #BeachAction!? ?- On #WorldOceansDay 8th June, the Beach Collective are planning an international day of action with beach cleans and mangrove restoration taking place in 6 countries including #Lebanon, #Philippines, #Kenya, #Ghana, #Tanzania and #Caymanislands. Stay tuned for more information.
?- Togbe has been taking plastic bags used to store drinking water and sewing them together to make rain ponchos! Check out his insta profile to see how he does it!?
?- Faulu Productions and their team of 30 women refugees cleared 200kg of plastic from Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya last week despite continuing to battle widespread flooding in the camp. Extreme rainfall has caused the banks of the Tarach river to burst and many people’s homes have been destroyed. Coming Up: Next week the Beach Collective are delighted to be joining the Peace Boat US as it docks in Tillbury, UK. The Beach Collective will be joining their networking event in Camden, meeting their Youth for the #SDGs and speaking about how they can take #BeachAction.
