Five Characteristics of a Great Franchisee

Five Characteristics of a Great Franchisee

Have you decided that Corporate America no longer works for you? Is it time to escape the cubicle? More importantly, do you feel that you’re ready to make the leap to business ownership?

The answer to that last question is a big one. When you make the jump from “employee” to “entrepreneur”, everything changes. You must take everything you know about career paths and throw them out the window.

While the thought of running your own company is exciting, the reality of that life can be anything but. Long hours, issues with employees and customers, balancing books, and a hundred more problems that can pop up every single day.

On the other hand, the positives of business ownership can greatly outweigh the negatives. There is a certain freedom that a business owner can experience that a regular employee may never know. Image being able to take control of your own life and run with it!

There’s no better way to become a business owner than to invest in a franchised business. You are jumping into a business that ideally already has a known brand, amazing training and ongoing support, and a system that has been honed and refined over the years. Your chance of success as a franchisee is likely higher than as a startup company.

Now that you know a franchise might be right for you, ask yourself one last question: Are you right for the franchise?

There are five distinct characteristics that great franchisees possess that allow them to take their franchise to the next level.

They are Comfortable with Themselves.

The great franchisees know who they are and accept it. They’re not afraid to be themselves and let that show in their business. In fact, the company reflects their personality.

They are Extremely Amiable.

This person is pleasant to be around. They’re the type of person you would want to have a beer with.

This carries over into their business, where they are fantastic with customers and great at networking events. They have a level-headed approach to any issue that pops up, which gives everyone around them confidence.

They Get Things Done.

A great franchisee is a doer. When something needs to be taken care of, they know how to do it themselves, or they are comfortable giving instruction on how to do it. Because of that, people will come to them for the important moves.

They are Driven.

From Day One, this person has had a strong sense of personal direction. They are constantly pointed toward the finish line with their eyes on the goal.

The best part about this characteristic is that it makes the people around them want to become part of that success.

They Have a Track Record of Success.

Finally, this person brings a long record of success to the table. It almost seems like everything they tough turns to gold.

But it’s not as easy as that. Each success comes with a dozen problems to hurdle. But because they have the drive, the attitude, and the mindset to keep moving forward, those problems (and possibly failures) never stand in their way. In fact, those problems tend to motivate them more than anything.

Can you check off all, or most, of these boxes? If so, life as a franchisee can be in your future. You could have the opportunity to go down a path that can offer amazing rewards, both professionally and personally.

The most important thing? Make sure you take that first step. Seek assistance from a professional franchise consultant that can help you find that life of your dreams.
