In a recent Sunday Times article, Fitzrovia headlined a list of the top 10 places to live in London.
Having seen some considerable changes in the area over the past decade, it is not surprising that this pocket of central London is starting to come to the fore.
Built in the 1800's, the area was first developed by Charles Fitzroy for the upper classes but as they began to migrate out to places such as Mayfair and Belgravia, the original large aristocratic house began to subdivide into workshops and studios. The area began to attract craftsman, artists, writers and actors paving the way for the arts connections and bohemian charm it continues to hold today.
Although the area has undergone a degree of regeneration over the last decade with some best in class new developments such as Fitzroy Place, the area still offers good value for money compared to a number of its central London counterparts.
